オーストラリアで使うIT&ビジネス用語 英語 – ぼくが知らなかったやつ

ビジネスシーンで出会った分からない英語の略や、単語をメモしていっております。

  • ERP(イーアールピー)
    Enterprise Resource Planning
    統合基幹業務システムのことですね
  • WIP meeting(ウィプ ミーティング)
    Work in progress
    進捗状況のミーティングのことですね
  • UAT(ユーエーティ)
    user acceptance testing (UAT) – also called beta testing, application testing, and end user testing
    会社のプロダクトを再度テストするって際に、UATをしたものでないとプロダクトはローンチできないと言われました。
  • ROI(アール、オー、アイとか、ロイ、そのままリターン オン インベストメントとか言ってますね)
    return on investmentm、投資した資本に対して得られる利益の割合
    営業さんが取ってきた案件に対して、どれくらい作業がかかっているのか、確認する際に、マネージャーがROIはどないなってんねん、て確認してきました。
  • EDM(イーディーエム)
    Electronic direct marketing or email direct marketing、ぼくはWeb系で働いているのですがEDM=htmlEメールや、ユーザに送るメールEメールですね。
    面接なので、EDMの作成した経験あるとかも聞かれました。つまりhtml Email作れるという意味なんだと思います。
  • COB(シーオービー)
    Close of Business、お店などの就業時間でも使いますが、プロダクトの納品期日にもつかうようです。
  • RHS(ライト・ハンド・サイド)
    Right hand side、画像を見ての通りです。今までに一回しか聞いたことないけど、一応メモしておきます。

  • DFP(ディ・エフ・ピー)
    DoubleClick for Publishersの略ですね、Web関係の広告に使われています。

  • TFS(ディ・エフ・ピー)
    Team Foundation Serverの略ですね、Microsoftのソフトウェアのプロジェクト管理するソフトのことです。
    オーストラリアはMicrosoftを使っている会社が多いので、よく見かけます。

  • PBI(ディ・エフ・ピー)
    Product Backlog Itemの略ですね、TFSというMicrosoftのソフトウェアのプロジェクト管理するソフトの中で使われていて、Taskが来た場合はPBIに仕様が明確になっているか確認してからとりかかります。
  • KPI(ケイ・ピー・アイ)
    Key Performance Indicatorの略ですね、新しい機能を追加する際などに、KPIを明確になっているかとか聞かれたり、聞いたりしてつかっております。スタートアップ界隈では日常的に使っていますね。
  • MVP(エム・ブイ・ピー)
    Minimum Viable Productの略ですね、新しく製品を作る際に、いきなり100%の製品をつくるのではなく、必要最低限の機能のものを作って市場調査などをしてから100%を作っていくと言う考え方があって、その始めの製品をMVPって言いますね。
  • Pivot(ピボット)
    これもスタートアップ界隈でよく使いますね。市場を変更する際になどに、前の市場をすでに調査してダメだったから別の市場に変更する際になどに使っています。
  • Monetize(マネタイズ)
    これは日本語にもなってきているかな。どうやってお金つくんねんってことです。
  • PDR(ピー・ディー・アール,パーソナル・デベロッパメント・レビュー)
    Personal development reviewsの略ですね。年に1、2回ほど上司とレビューすることがあるのですが、その際に上司と一緒にPDRを作って、次回のレビューなどに役立てます。今年の目標や課題などを設定します。
  • TMI(ティー・エム・アイ)
    Too much informationの略ですね。これはもうITというよりも、日常の業務なので聞きたくない情報が来た際によく使います。
    特にプライベートの話をしている際に、あまりにも詳細を話す人などに、あいつはいつもTMI的な感じでつかったりします。

  • Joe Bloggs(ジョー・ブローク)
    辞書によると、仮想の平均的な男性らしいです。わかりづらいですが、日本語で言うところの鈴木さん、田中さんという架空の人物などで使う感じですね。
  • Limbus(リンボー)
    Wikiによると、辺獄らしいです。知らんかった。。。
    クラウド上にあるデータベースを移設する際に、冗談で移設忘れたデータベースをそれはリンボーに置き忘れたーって言われました。
  • Code freeze(コード・フリーズ)
    これは日本語でもたまに聞いたことがありますね。これでフリーズね的に使って、コードの変更を今後一切認めない場合などに使いますね。
  • Sandbox(サンドボックス)
    ぼくの周りの認識では、テスト環境な意味でつかっていますね。そのAPIを触りたいだけど、sandboxあるの?的な感じですね。
  • WFH(ワーク from ホーム)
    Work From Homeの略ですね、ITの会社だとたまに見かけます。
    明日は大工が家にくるから家で働くは~的な感じですねm
  • MIS(エムアイエス)
    Management information systemの略ですね、ITのインフラをマネージする人たちで、Desktopだけでなく、サーバ関係、ネットワークも含めて管理するグループです
  • OTP(オーティーピー)
    Over the pageのことらしいです。広告でたまに、全画面に表示されて閉じるを押さないと表示されないやつがあると思うのですが、それですね。
    Google Tag Managerの広告系でOTPだとこれですね
  • Phew
    ヒューって発音しますが、日本でいうところの”ほーなんとかできたー”のほーの部分です。

    よくネタとして使う画像を検索する際に使用します。
    meme developerで検索したらこんな感じのがでてきます。
  • OOO(アウトオブオフィス)
    Out of officeのことですね。
    オーストラリアは有給はバシバシ取るので、自動返信で月曜までOOOだからごめんね的なメールがよく送られてきます。
    例文)
    I will be OOO until Monday 10th December.
    Please contact Ayumi for urgent issues.
  • TBC(ティビーシー)
    To Be Confirmed の略ですね。
    確認中とかの意味ですが、未確定の際にもよくこれを使いますね。
    あんまりみないですけど、TBD(To Be Determined) 未確定だけど、あとで決まるよ的なのもあります。
  • WBS(だぶりゅーびーえす)
    Work Breakdown Structureの略のようです。(他にも意味があるけど、IT業界だとこれで使われるようです。)

  • Tender
    入札契約のこと、オーストラリアでも政府の仕事をする場合は、入札で決めないといけないみたいです。

I got Eiken Grade 2 !!

I took Eiken Grade 2 on 25th January.
And then I had an interview on 22th February.
It was not difficult for me but if I have not met Sally, I can not get Eiken Grade 2.

I often listen to podcast on the way to office.
And Nikkei weekly provide good podcasts about Nikkei weekly articles, I often buy Nikkei weekly and I listen to this podcasts when I read Nikkei weekly.
I sometimes listen Radio

This radio is BBC.
There are a lot of categories,I often listen to world news and environment and Technical news.
If you can not continue to listen to News in English, you can get used o listen English.
BBC have a lot of categories you can find easily the news about you like
Take an exam

If you keep trying to take English exams,you can get 2 good things.
One is you have to study English.’cause if you don’t it is waste of your money.
Second reason is you can check your English levels, it is important to keep your motivation.
